Ever needed to create an email now and run for an appointment but not send it yet? You want the email to go out later today but not sure when you will be back in the office?

So, the feature is really quite simple to use and has been a standard part of Microsoft Outlook (now Outlook 365) for many years.
I use it on a regular basis when I want to “schedule” emails to go out at a certain time. For example, I use it to automate a flow of emails to go out at a designated time (1 hour before) Certification Exam Start Times.
The first part is fairly straight forward:
1. Start Outlook and create a new email as per normal
2. Enter a To: Address, Subject and a Message (optionally any attachments)
3. Select the Options Tab above the Ribbon

4. Click on the Delay Delivery button

5. On the dialog box that opens choose the Date and Time when you want the message to depart and select close

6. Click on the “Send” button as normal
7. Your email has gone to the “Outbox” in your folder list waiting until it is time to send. It will sit there as long as it needs to until it is time to go.

NOTE: Your computer must be turned on with Outlook running for your computer to be able to send this email. If you go to close Outlook down it will warn you that there are items in your Outbox waiting to be sent.
